Hang Drums

Hang Drums For Sale-A Close Look

Music is part of everyone's life, no matter what type of it you are fond of. Each person has his own preference and there are new sounds coming out that hails from the brilliance of some musicians. They were able to come up with new breed of sounds coming from new kinds of instruments, deriving from the common ones used.

Hangpans are one of the recent instruments created inspired by steelpans but this time, the creators Felix Rohner and Sabina Schärer, both German musicians, enhanced their version and were able to make something more subtle and different from other versions.

The distinct feature of this instrument is the sound it produces. Tapped only with hands and the fingers softly, the sound that comes out resembles that of chimes or harp. The player needs to make sure that this is going to be used gently to keep it in tune.

This is really an interesting piece of instrument mainly because of its shape, similar to a UFO. The top part which called a Ding has one center hole which is the central note and 7 or 8 more is located around it.

The lower part of it is called a Gu, is just plain but with a rolled hole that creates a sound when the rim is hit. PanArt were the first to create these instruments but they stopped making it in 2013 as they focused on making a different instrument. Although there are no brand new hang drums created, you can still find second-hand of these.
